As you can probably imagine, we have so many ideas about how events could happen here. We, the family, & Annabel (Wedding Manager), have taken many a wander around the site with creative caps on. Its great to join forces and envisage the space, making many lists!

Lighting

Chandelier BITF style!

One thing we all agree on is that a space like our Old Barn needs some wonderful lighting. We have been busy putting in some beam spotlights and upcycling items from the yard. Its amazing what you can do with a bit of metal equipment! There will be the standard ‘big’ lights but to create the all important atmosphere we need more than that. You can of course hire in more but we will try to add some features too.

Access

This place wasn’t built for parties but you’ll never guess that when we are done! We have been busy getting internal stairs made so that the weather wont be a turn off or inconvenience. We want to allow your imagination to flow, uninterrupted by concerns, so we are taking time to make flexible spaces.

New Window

In the Chapel end of the Old Barn we have opened up the view of the fells. This new window allows not just some brilliant light in but a great view of surrounding fells. Really pleased with it!

The Sheep Yard

We are starting with a boring, flat yard but in our heads this is an Italian style courtyard with festoon lights, potted trees and bar tables dotted around. It will be humming with activity from morning to night. The gardens at the hotel are a few steps away too so we can tick off lush green with a more cosmopolitan vibe. Sounds good right!? Yep! Even Hogg is excited about it all.
